Whether you’re on a romantic escape for two or getting away with friends or family, we want to you to feel more than welcome. That’s why it’s our pleasure to provide you with these services on the house:

market fresh breakfast

Market Fresh Breakfast served daily from 7:00am – 10:15 am.

afternoon tea & coffee

Afternoon Tea & Coffee served daily in the Library from 3pm – 5pm.

Complimentary Canoe Rentals:

Our canoe docks are open daily from 9:30am – 5:00pm. Canoes are available on a first-come first-basis (we do not take reservations).  Each canoe can accommodate two to three people. Paddle, life jackets and basic instruction are provided.

Unfortunately pets are not permitted in the canoes.

Due to water levels our canoe dock is only in operation from mid-June to mid-September. Please note that we do close down without notice due to inclement weather (snow, rain and wind).

Our guided hiking program is offered Wednesday through Sunday (hikes are not available on Monday and Tuesday) with our in-house Naturalist. There is limited space (12 guests in total per hike).  Guests are required to sign up in advance. We run the guided hiking program to offer couples a chance to hike and experience the area as there are typically hiking restrictions in place that require a minimum group of 4 for safety.

Meet in the library room at 9:10am. Guided Hikes depart at 9:30am.  Please note all hikers must have closed toe shoes (running shoes, hiking, boots/shoes) and water. It is highly recommended that you bring a snack and/or light lunch. Food may be purchased at the Snowshoe Café prior to departure.

Consolation Lakes:

Distance: 6 km (3.7 miles) return
Difficulty: Moderate
Elevation Gain: 60 meters (197 feet)
Time: 2 hours roundtrip

The hike to Consolation Lake is of shorter nature, but the rugged scenery is as rewarding as that found on many of the longer journeys in Banff National Park.

Larch Valley:

Distance 8.6 km (5.4 miles) return
Difficulty: Moderate / Difficult
Elevation Gain: 520 meters (1706 feet)
Time: 3-4 hours round trip

Larch Valley is one of the most popular hiking destinations in the Canadian Rockies. This meadow above Moraine Lake, with its dense stands of Alpine Larch and panoramic overview of the Ten Peaks is exquisite.

Eiffel Lake:

Distance: 11.2 km (7 miles)
Difficulty: Moderate / Difficult
Elevation Gain: 370 meters (1214 feet)
Time:  4-5 hours round trip

This is another awe-inspiring area that tends to see fewer hikers than Larch Valley.

Evening presentations are held in the library three nights a week at 9:00pm; Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. They are hosted by Joel Hagen and Nadine Fletcher of Great Divide Nature Interpretation. Joel and Nadine have over 20 years’ experience in interpreting the Canadian Rockies and know more about the park and wildlife than anyone.

Sunday: #WonderfulWildlife

Wild animals are an important part of people’s lives. Every week we celebrate the creatures around us with #WildlifeWednesday. But, here in a national park, we think every day deserves its own animal hashtag! Join us for an insider’s look at our local wildlife and find out where to look for animals in the park.

Tuesday: The High Tech Grizzly

Just as some of us can’t live without Facebook, location-based apps, or the ability to take a “selfie” at will, it may be the case that our grizzly bears can’t live without technology either.  In this show, we put the “tech” in “pro-tection!”

Thursday: The Banana Peel Awards: Great Accidents in the Rockies

This show explores three historic accidents that have left us with a mountain of legacies that enrich your experience of the Rockies to this very day.  The “accidental tourists” behind these stories are responsible for the trails you hike, the park’s rescue service, inspiring art, and every map you’ve used on your trip.

There is designated guest parking behind the Lodge for hotel guests.

Complimentary WiFi

We do have limited WiFi available as well as a computer for our guests to use.

Complimentary Concierge Services are provided for guests.

“What a beautiful place with friendly staff! The food was amazing and the views were unbelievable.  I recommend the canoe rental which is included in your reservation at the lodge.”
