Adjacent to the Lodge, this short interpretive trail introduces you to the environment and history of the Valley of the Ten Peaks. From the top, enjoy a stunning overview of Moraine Lake and the Ten Peaks.

Lakeshore Trail
Roundtrip: 3 km (1.8 mi)- 40–60 min

Starting just beyond the canoe dock, this forested trail follows the shoreline of Moraine Lake. It’s a flat, easy walk that allows for beautiful views of the famous alpine lake.

Difficulty – Moderate
Consolation Lakes
Roundtrip: 6 km (3.7 mi) – 2 hrs
Elevation gain: 60 m (197 ft)
This hike leads into the heart of Consolation Valley, a rewarding destination with views of Panorama Ridge and the Quadra Glacier. The trail takes you through lush forest, eventually opening up to the lower lake, with glacier-covered cliffs towering above.

Larch Valley
Roundtrip: 8.6 km (5.4 mi) – 3–4 hrs
Elevation gain: 535 m (1,755 ft)
One of the more popular day hikes in the Moraine Lake area, this trail winds through a grove of larch trees (particularly awe-inspiring in the fall), opening up to an alpine meadow. The panoramic views of the Ten Peaks towering above makes for an impressive backdrop.

Eiffel Lake
Roundtrip: 11.2 km (7 mi) – 4.5 hrs
Elevation gain: 370 m (1,214 ft)
This awe-inspiring area tends to see fewer hikers than Larch Valley, though it follows the same course for the first 2.4 km. Flattening out and winding around the mountainside, the trail opens up to an area surrounded by mountain peaks. Stunning panoramic views are offered as the trail crosses the boulder field above Eiffel Lake.

Sentinel Pass
Roundtrip: 11.6 km (7.2 mi) – 5–6 hrs
Elevation gain: 725 m (2,368 ft)
For a challenge, continue past Larch Valley to Sentinel Pass. Hike past Minnestimma Lakes, then ascend switchbacks with some exposure and rockfall risk. At the pass, take in breathtaking views of the Ten Peaks, Larch Valley and Paradise Valley.

Wenkchemna Pass
Roundtrip: 19.4 km (12 mi) – 7–8 hrs
Elevation gain: 720 m (2,362 ft)
For a full-day hike, continue past Eiffel Lake to Wenkchemna Pass. The final ascent involves scrambling over boulders, but at the top, you’ll stand on the Continental Divide with stunning views of the Valley of the Ten Peaks and Wenkchemna Glacier.

Paradise Valley
Roundtrip: 20.3 km (12.6 mi) – 8–9 hrs
Elevation gain: 1,045 m (3,422 ft)
This point-to-point trail starts at Moraine Lake Lodge or 2.5 km up Moraine Lake Road. A vehicle shuttle is needed. Hikers enjoy stunning views of Mount Temple, Lake Annette, Horseshoe Meadows, the Giant Steps, Sentinel Pass and Larch Valley.

Lake Louise Shoreline Trail

This trail runs along the shore of the lake and is appealing to all ages and physical abilities. It is a flat, well developed trail along the right side of the lake. The trail offers stunning views of Lake Louise, Victoria Glacier and the Chateau Lake Louise.

Fairview Lookout
Roundtrip: 2 km (1.2 mi) – 45 min
Elevation gain: 100 m (328 ft)
Leaving from the boathouse of Lake Louise, this short uphill hike offers you a unique look at both the lake and the historic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

Lake Agnes Teahouse
Roundtrip: 6.8 km (4.2 mi) – 2.5–3 hrs
Elevation gain: 385 m (1,263 ft)
The historic Lake Agnes hike starts near Chateau Lake Louise, climbing 2 km through dense forest to the iconic 1901 tea house. Enjoy a well-earned snack and stunning views at the top (cash only).

Plain of Six Glaciers Teahouse
Roundtrip: 10.6 km (6.6 mi) – 4 hrs
Elevation gain: 365 m (1,197 ft)
This hike extends the Lake Louise Shoreline Trail, leading through stunning glacial scenery to the base of Mt. Victoria. At the end, enjoy refreshments at the historic 1924 teahouse (cash only).
